About Mr. Mena
Carlos Mena joined the Chile Office of Stanton Chase in 2002. He has built a successful search practice by using his local and regional network to identify, assess, and recruit senior executives for key leadership roles in various industries. In addition to managing the Chile Office, Carlos serves as the regional leader of the Industrial Practice Group. Carlos’s clients range from mid-size multinational companies that have, or are starting, operations in Chile to Fortune 1,000 companies. His primary experience and expertise is in the industrial, technology, and supply chain business sectors.
Prior to joining Stanton Chase, Carlos served as vice president of business development for the Latin America Region of RR Donnelley, the world’s leader in the printing industry. Prior to that, he was the founder of a start-up that was the first manufacturer of paper cups in the Latin American region. After four years, he sold his interest to International Paper.
Carlos started his career at Unilever where he held different positions within the Latin America operation, including that of development manager for Chile.
Carlos is fully bilingual in English and Spanish, as well as bi-cultural. After earning his chemical engineering degree at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, he earned an MBA at the Catholic University in Chile.
Carlos is active in the high technology start-up community in Latin America as both a mentor and an angel investor. He was the lead investor in, and chairman of, Cirqit, a Latin America procurement and logistic start-up, that he successfully sold to Innerworkings (Nasdaq: INWK) in 2011.
