the client is seeking an Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) to provide strategic leadership for clinical programs advancement and fundraising through grateful patient initiatives. The AVC will lead major gift development across clinical departments, helping integrate philanthropy into the clinical care continuum and advancing the clients mission in education, research, and healthcare.
The AVC will establish and execute a comprehensive advancement strategy in close partnership with clinical department and institutional leaders, including department chairs, division chiefs, center and institute directors, faculty, physicians, and senior leadership. Core responsibilities include leading a high-performing team of frontline fundraisers, supervising program execution, developing performance metrics to drive growth in fundraising activity and revenue, and recommending organizational structures to maximize coverage of priority areas and resources.
Key functions include managing a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, cultivating new prospects, and meeting performance goals through strong physician and stakeholder engagement. The role requires demonstrated fundraising success (including the ability to close seven-figure gifts from grateful patients) and proven experience engaging physicians, along with the ability to communicate effectively using knowledge of academic research and clinical programs. Moderate physical effort may be required, including standing or moving for several hours at a time.
