Doctorate in Psychology from the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. Alfonso has a long professional career as an Organizational and Human Resources Consultant and as an Entrepreneur. He began his career as a professor and researcher at the Autonomous University of Madrid. In 1988, he joined Arthur Andersen (now Accenture) where he led large-scale projects. In 1997, he became Managing Director of Watson Wyatt Worldwide, overseeing all business divisions in Spain. In 2003, he founded PeopleMatters, a management consulting firm, and in February 2020, oversaw its succession. Since July 2020, he has been a member of the Advisory Board of Atrevía, Spain's leading communications agency. He is a member of various business and professional associations such as APD, Instituto de Consejeros y Administradores, and is currently a member of the National Board of Directors of AED (Spanish Association of Directors) and a member of its Remuneration and Nominations Committee. In addition, he has an intense academic activity as a professor in several universities and business schools (Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, IE Business School, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad Europea de Madrid, Centro de Estudios Garrigues, Euroforum, APD, SHRM, Sagardoy Business School…). He recently founded Recruiting Erasmus , a digital platform for young talent. He has written several books in his areas of expertise and is a regular contributor to business and industry media.
