About Mr. Zhu
Based in Spencer Stuart’s Shanghai office, Alex Zhu is a core member of the firm’s global Industrial Practice and leads the firm’s Supply Chain Practice in Asia Pacific. He also has significant experience in digital and the semiconductor sector. Since 2005, Alex has supported businesses and CEOs in leading strategic growth, driving business transformation and turnarounds, and upgrading organizational and supply chain capabilities, by helping them identify and recruit best-in-class C-suite executives and regional leaders with cultural agility. Alex also focuses on the supply chain function, helping to recruit chief supply chain officers, chief procurement officers and senior manufacturing leaders for a wide range of companies in discrete and process manufacturing, technology, consumer goods and retail sectors.

With a track record of placing executives across industries, sectors and geographies, as well as his interest in nascent technologies such as AI, the internet of things and the emerging fourth industrial revolution, Alex advises client organizations on the leadership implications of driving innovation and transformation.
Prior to joining Spencer Stuart in 2007, Alex worked at another international organizational advisory firm, where he focused on the technology sector.
Earlier in his career, Alex worked for a Chinese government organization, where he was responsible for overseas industry expert recruitment and executive competency assessment.
Alex holds an executive MBA from IMD Business School in Lausanne, Switzerland and a bachelor’s degree with honors in economics from Anhui University of Finance and Economics in China. He speaks Mandarin and English.
